How to Know Your Cat Actually Likes You

We know cats can be moody sometimes and usually just stick to themselves, however sometimes they do give us reassure they actually care about us. We did some research and found 6 unusual ways your cat is actually giving you affection.

Head Butting You

According to Mother Nature Network, “Cats have secret glands concentrated on certain parts of their bodies, including their cheeks and heads. When your kitty rubs her head or face against you, she’s marking you with her scent and claiming you as part of her family group.” She is letting everyone know you belong to her by rubbing her scent on you.

Bringing you a Gift

Often times your cat may bring you a dead mouse from the yard or a toy. They are saying thank you and showing you appreciation by offering you this gift. Since cats are natural hunters and bringing you a gift means he wants you to enjoy a lovely meal.

Laying on her Back

Cats don't lie on their backs for just anyone. They want to keep their stomach area protected. If your cat turns over to expose his stomach it means he truly trusts you and wouldn't mind a belly rub.

Purring and Meowing

The most common way your cat is showing you affection is through purring. She doesn't pur to other cats, it is reserved for humans. Cats also pur when they are upset, but it's very rare. Kittens also grow out of meowing to their mothers once they reach adulthood, however they will meow to show love to their human mother.

Love Bites

Gently nibbling on your fingers is another way your cat is saying 'I love you'. Cats often nibble each other to show they're friends, so when they do it to their human it just means they think of you as a part of their family.

Tail Bend

A cat will usually put their tail up as a greeting when you get home. If your cat holds his tail up and has a sharp bend towards the top it indicates familiarity and affection.
