Many customers are familiar with our Flea Away Repellant, but we have had several customers ask us what exactly our other product, DE, is and does. So we are here to explain!
What is DE?
DE stands for Diatomaceous Earth. Diatomaceous Earth is an off white powder that is the fossilized remains of marine phytoplankton. Now how does this have to do with fleas? When sprinkled on bugs with an exoskeleton, for example fleas, the powder absorbs the oils and fats from the exoskeleton, drying the insect out and terminating it.
How does DE work?
DE is an extremely effective substance for creating a border from fleas that are hiding in carpets in your home, or even outside where your pets might enjoy taking a rest. However, DE isn't just effective in carpet-like material. It can also be used just as effectively to create a border on hardwood floors, blocking out fleas that may have found a way inside. DE even works to keep away fleas in your garden, killing the pests without killing your plants.
What's the difference between Flea Away DE and Flea Away Repellant?
Flea Away DE is a power-like substance that works by creating a border between a physical space and your animal. Flea Away Repellant, on the other hand, is a vitamin complex flavored with real liver that your cat or dog takes daily in the form of a chewable tablet. When the Flea Away repellant is kept in your pet's system, the vitamins cause your pet to develop a natural odor that repels fleas and other pests, so fleas never get on your cat or dog's skin.
Both Flea Away products are completely natural and contain no harsh chemicals, ensuring your cats and dogs stay healthy and flea free at the same time. So why wait? Get your Flea Away today!
